The Portuguese rider already fascinated the audience of “Companions of Light” with impressive dressage performances. Now he is taking part in CAVALLUNA with his own riding team. In addition to beautiful quadrilles with his Friesian horses, he will also be presenting a touching solo act.
Learning from the best
The friendly southern European grew up near Lisbon, not far from the riding school owned by Luis Valença – an expert at advanced dressage. At an early age, Filipe discovered his passion for classical riding, and he was able to complete his training with the master himself.

In 2008, he first performed in Europe’s most popular horse show with the Valença riding team. In addition to the great success at CAVALLUNA, Filipe Fernandes also looks back at numerous triumphs at tournaments and he has been a successful coach and horsebreaker for many years himself.

At CAVALLUNA, the riding team surrounding Filipe Fernandes will be presenting beautiful classical dressage acts. The talented team will show off complicated performances such as half-passes and piaffes as well as beautiful quadrilles in total harmony with their horses. A special highlight: The baroque horses will be presented with a simple snaffle bit. In addition, Filipe will be presenting an impressive dressage with one of his Friesians. The duo was already a crowd-favourite at the previous show!
