At just 20 years of age, Sofia Bacioia is one of the youngest riders on the current tour. However, her riding skills are nothing short of her older colleagues’ on the show. At only four years old, the Italian discovered her great passion for horse riding. Ever since, she cannot imagine a life without the noble animals.
Working equitation success
The ambitious rider and her Aztec horse “Cartagena” have been an absolute dream team for six years. Especially in the challenging riding style of the working equitation – which is based on an ancient style that has been used for labour in Southern Europe – the Italian and her horse excel at the challenging obstacle course that requires them both to be highly concentrated.

In 2017 and 2018, the passionate rider and her horse won the European championships, as well as two Italian championships in 2016 and 2018.
