EQUIPE HASTA LUEGO – TRICK & STUNT RIDING (VOLTIGE)
The Hasta Luego Academy
The trick rider elite
It has been part of Europe’s most popular show with horses for over ten years: the Hasta Luego Academy. With spectacular stunts on, beside and under the horse, the trick riders not only belong to the show elite, they also remain in the memory of CAVALLUNA spectators long after their visit. The stunt riders are instructed and trained by Equipe boss Erik Hasta Luego. The Frenchman, who used to be one of the best of the best himself, has made the training of young trick riding talents his life’s work. In 1978 he stood in the Guinness Book of Records with a very special discipline: in just 12 seconds he dived under the belly of a galloping horse! The Southern Frenchman still holds the record today.
custom made saddles
The trick riders need very special saddles to be able to perform spectacular stunts and the fastest manoeuvres. In addition to the large front handle, they also need many other loops and grips around the leather seat. Erik personally takes over the production of these individual pieces, which are tailored to the tricks. For many years he has been practicing this craft with passion and extreme precision. This is the only way the head of the team can ensure that his protégés “sit firmly in the saddle” even during risky stunts.
The team at CAVALLUNA
Every year Erik Hasta Luego and his team change and improve the rapid show elements. Also this year the Hasta Luego Academy is part of CAVALLUNA – “Legend of the Desert” with great tricks with their horses. Vaulting reaches a new level in the vastness of the Orient and the trick riders convince in over 30 cities with spectacular stunts and breathtaking manoeuvres. A great atmosphere comes up!
Kenzie Dysli also dares to ride tricks in the show and proves what a close bond there can be between man and horse. The riders have to be able to rely on their horses completely, when they sweep through the arena in a gallop, do a handstand or a balancing act on or even beside their horse.
